About John Ivey

I am an Arizona REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Realty, serving buyers and sellers throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. My primary focus includes Scottsdale, where my Coldwell Banker Realty office is located, as well as Palm Valley and surrounding West Valley communities. I also assist clients in other areas of Greater Phoenix based on their individual real estate needs.

Although I am relatively new to professional real estate, my experience with residential property spans more than 30 years. Since 1994, I have been involved in purchasing homes that required updating or remodeling, coordinating with contractors and vendors, monitoring schedules and costs, and preparing properties for resale.

This experience gave me a practical appreciation for property condition, renovation potential, maintenance needs, and the importance of looking beyond a home’s initial appearance. It also reinforced the value of consulting qualified professionals. Property inspections, repair assessments, cost estimates, and construction work should be performed by appropriately licensed contractors, inspectors, and other specialists. My role as a real estate professional is to help clients identify relevant questions, obtain appropriate professional guidance, and consider how property-related issues may affect their real estate decisions.

Before entering real estate, I built a long career in public service as a Pipeline Safety Analyst. My responsibilities included regulatory oversight, investigations, detailed documentation, interviews, and the careful application of complex laws and policies. That work required accuracy, discretion, sound judgment, and professional follow-through—qualities I now bring to every real estate relationship.

I am based in the West Valley and previously lived in Scottsdale for many years, giving me personal familiarity with communities on both sides of the Phoenix metropolitan area. This perspective allows me to assist clients whose searches, sales, or relocations may extend across different parts of the Valley.
